Join your Local 1000 brothers and sisters for a 3-day Local 1000 Retreat on Tuesday, May 15th to Thursday, May 17th at the Highlander Center in New Market, TN. For a mere $235 you will be housed and fed and be able to join in on the workshops, singings, breakout sessions, and special events being offered. This is a only-members retreat and there are only 28 spaces available, so sign up today. ‘Cause when it’s gone, it’s gone.
What? A Local 1000 Retreat. 3 days and 2 nights of meals together, workshops, discussions, and, of course, plenty of music. A great way to meet other Local 1000 members and together talk about what Local 1000 is and can be.
When? Noon (Lunch) Tuesday, May 15th through lunch Thursday, May 17th. Perfect for those folks working on the weekends. NOTE: SERFA is again happening immediately afterwards, only 1-1/2 hours to the east in NC. Last year this was a tremendous opportunity to share the Local 1000 experience with other musicians!
Where? Highlander Center (http://www.highlandercenter.org/) south of New Market, TN (just east of Knoxville, TN).
Who? Only Local 1000 members in good standing are invited. Spouses/partners are welcome. Because of the intimacy of Highlander, there is a limit of 35 spaces available.
What’s the cost? $235 total. This covers all expenses, including room and board. Rooming is in 2 dormitory-style areas. Meals are communal. Vegetarian options.
There are lodging alternatives nearby. Visit this website for locations in Kodak, TN. Kristi Coleman from Highlander says there are some hotels by Exit 407 on Highway 40, which are about 10-15 min from Highlander. (By the Bass Pro Shop.)
