Pay Your Local 1000 Dues and Fees

Initation Fee:
New Members $100
Dual Members $35

Explanation: New Members, who are not already a member of the AFM, pay the initiation fee. If you are already a member in good standing of your geographical local of the AFM, when you join Local 1000 you pay the reduced rate. If you and the rest of your band are joining at the same time, only the leader payes the Initiation Fee, which is waived for the other members. Contact the Office if you have questions.

Membership Dues:
Annual Dues $150
Quarterly Dues $40

Explanation: every member pays membership dues. To renew your membership these can be paid quarterly but paying annually saves you money and hassle of remembering to pay. These dues are shared with the American Federation of Musicians.

Work Dues:
2% of Pensionable Contributions $

Explanation: Work Dues are the only income upon which our Local can depend and are what support the staff and office services that help you. You may pay these monthly or quarterly, or from the invoice sent by the office.

Calculation: If you are paying from an invoice, enter the amount due into this field. If you are paying based on your pensionable contributions, multiply the amount of your pensionable contribution by .02. Example: Pensionable Contribution: $1,500 x .02 = $30

Reinstatement:
Reinstatement Fee: $25
Past Dues Owed ($40 per quarter) $

This fee, plus any dues owed, must be paid if you have been expelled for nonpayment of dues for two consecutive quarters in a calendar year.

Emergency Relief Fund $

This fund is set up to help our members who have special needs. Contact the Office for information about the disbursement policy.
AFM Legislative Action Fund (formerly TEMPO) $

This fund is set up to help our members who have special needs. Contact the Office for information about the disbursement policy.

Exchange Rate: If you are Canadian, pay with your credit card in US dollars and the credit card company will calculate the exchange rate.
